I am anxious to see how we all deal with the pain, keeping the best interests of how students at the top of our list, and working to keep everyone "safe" at the same time. But I know that most of my students are used to lots more access at home, and that they are learning (in some instances) lots of powerful stuff through this access. Lots of changes ahead!!!

Sandi,

I have been following Chris since way before he ever opened SLA. In fact, I belive he was an English teacher and coach when I first started reading his blog.....Time flies!!!!

I would really love to tour his school in Philly and also attend the conference he has hosted for the past couple of years!!!! His teachers rock (from all I have read about the "happenings" at his school).

That is pretty exciting, Sandi! I just loved the whole collaborative spirit of the project. Teachers truly can learn so much from each other, and if technology can facilitate that collaboration in any way, it will be money well spent!!!

Great minds think alike..ha! I had the same thought about the format of the online conference. It really was a great example of how teachers/students could share and showcase within districts!

Sandi
I actually commented on your THING 5 about RSS as my Thing 4 assignment. I didn't realize you were already ahead of the rest of us. I think i got the SSR blog mixed up with the blog you wrote about RSS. Oops!
Now i want to know who David Warlick is and why you would fall out of your chair to read his comment!

Sandini
I do hope that RSS starts to make sense to me after i finish this class. I know you have shown us how to subscribe but i am already on information overload and sometimes afraid that i will get addicted to these RSS feeds if i subscribe to them. But it sounds like you use them to gather your information and stay on top of what is going on in the web 2.0 world. So i am going to give it a SERIOUS try and see if i can make it work for me.

Hey, Sandini. Thanks for pointing me to the "Bevity" blog. It was not one I chose to read on my own, but I checked your comments to see what you read, because you always find cool stuff. This was awesome and something I try to demonstrate for our teachers when I show them examples of movies, podcasts, etc for Teach 21 projects. I like them to think about how much more effective a few powerful words, the right digital image and carefully chosen music are than thousands of words (probably copied and pasted). Did you see that David Warlick had commented on this blog? What would you do if you opened your blog and he had commented on yours? Fall out of your chair, I bet!!!!

So you have organizational "issues" too? Ha!
I have totally become Googlized for that very reason. I use it all, the Google Notebook, Reader, Docs, Gmail, etc. I often wonder exactly what I did before Google!!!
